Botox® is a natural neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and related species. It prevents the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from axon endings at the neuromuscular junction, thus causing flaccid paralysis of a muscle. Results are generally visible with in a few days, although it may take up to 2 weeks for final results to set in. Typically, Botox will last 3 to 4 months but could be more or less depending on each unique individual.

Our medical professionals and certified injectors will assess the treatment area and create a treatment plan to deliver the desired results. Small doses of Botox® are injected into the treatment area(s) causing the targeted muscles to relax. The muscles are temporarily paralyzed, which allows facial muscles to relax and reduces the pulling effect that creates those lines. Overactive muscles relax as the protein blocks the transmission of nerve impulses. Although office visit times may vary, the procedure generally takes about 20 minutes to complete.
